About Us


Who We Are
The Afro-Canada Games is a non-profit organization committed to promoting, preserving and connecting the Black and Afro-Canadian Communities under our foundational tenets of Sports, Arts and Culture.


The Afro Canada Games is the creation of the National African Canadian Association with the vision of bringing together the Black and Afro-Canadians Communities through sports, arts and culture to stimulate ownership, growth and pride within our many diverse Black communities. We aim to inspire our participants to celebrate and embrace our culture and history through our annual Afro Canada Games.


Through collaboration with Black and Afro-Canadian citizens and organizations, we will provide education, training, technical assistance and leadership development that celebrates the excellence of our similarities that promotes respect and tolerance for our differences. We promote Sports and Culture through academics, education of self, Black History, Arts and Sports.

Inspire and promote the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, cultural and social well-being for Black People and Afro- Canadians through physical activity, recreation and sports activities.


About the Games

The purpose of the Afro Canada Games is to provide Black and Afro-Canadian youths and adults the opportunity to compete against their peers in a variety of contemporary and traditional sporting activities. For Black and Afro- Canadians, the games are an opportunity for Black and Afro-Canadian athletes to compete, unite and build life-long friendships.


The Afro Canada Games are made possible by the determination and commitment of the National African Canadian Association. We believe that sport and culture have the power to change lives, improve wellness, and provide opportunities for personal growth and community development. We are an organization that is dedicated to the wellness of Black and Afro-Canadians, through programs that promote sport, recreation, physical literacy and land-based learning.

Why Afro Canada Games?

The Afro Canada Games is an annual sporting, Arts and Culture event that will be regarded as the premier and largest participation sporting, arts and cultural event within the Afro Canadian community.


The Afro Canada Games exist to raise morale and unify the Black and Afro-Canadian community and economy which has been devastated by physical and mental slavery, racial discrimination and the continued overt and subtle images that threaten to widen the divide within the Black, Afro-Canadian and Afro Global Communities.

Our Focus

The Afro Canada Games is created and managed by the National African Canadian Association. We are focused on preserving the dedication and hard work our ancestors and families gave in building our Canadian society. Through the Afro Canada Games we will celebrate through sports, arts, academics and culture that connect Black Canadians and the Afro Global diaspora. We are committed to building bridges that unite and strengthen all Black Canadians for a stronger and more united Canada.


Through governance, partnerships and resources the Afro Canada Games facilitates connection nationwide of bringing together Black and Afro Canadian athletes, artists and academia’s that serves to build competition, friendships and connecting the Black and African Canadian Community. The Afro Canada Games’ aim is to achieve national status that competes and compliments other games that celebrates the best of humanity in Canada.
